2007 Sustainable Fitness Media Boot Camp ChallengeIn support of the Heart and Stroke Foundation of ManitobaSustainable Fitness held a media challenge at Fraser's Grove Park in support of the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba on Wednesday, June 27th with great success. During the event we put various media personalities through a fitness challenge, and awards went to the best times. The “Most Fit” award went to Nicole Dube from Global Winnipeg with an incredible fitness circuit time of two minutes and 55 seconds. The “Most Spirited” award went to Alex Freedman from CBC Winnipeg; finishing a close second to Nicole Dube with a time of two minutes and 57 seconds. Honorable mentions (in no particular order) go to the following media personalities for allowing us to kick their butt at Boot Camp; Waub Rice, Karen Rocznik and Crystal Goodmanson from the CBC; Joyanne Pursaga and Kevin Engsrom from The Winnipeg Sun, Brett Megarry and Jeff Braun from CJOB and Jimmy Mac from Breakfast Television. These outstanding individuals earned their Boot Camp Survivor dog tags for their spirited efforts. Sustainable Fitness would like to thank everyone involved for their show of support towards this healthy initiative, as it raises awareness of preventative measures to combat heart disease and stroke. Special thanks to Jami Saari of Pizaz Creative; Jan Peters of the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba; Wayne Hamel of Main Street IGA; Lyall Meyers of Health Depot; Boot Camp Recruits and friends/employees/contractors of Sustainable Fitness for their time and/or support to help make this event as successful.
